Good Friday meeting...

Well, Good Friday ended up being so much better than good, it was brilliant!

I finally got to met a new friend I had been talking to on-line for the last few months. Once we'd set a date, I couldn't wait to meet up with her and her daughter. I must admit, I was very nervous about whether I'd be able to hold a conversation face to face rather than by IM or comments on flickr photo's... but I needn't have worried, we got on like a house on fire!

We met at a local pub suitable for ickle one's.... And I did, as a joke take a notepad and pen, incase we needed to revert back to writing messages and replies as we do on IM... but the conversation never dried up... at all, nope, not once!!

Her daughter is such a cutie. And as it was Easter, 'Auntie Spiralz' brought her a soft and cuddly teddy bear as I wasn't sure if she was allowed chocolate (turned out to be spot on there!) I brought a big Cadbury's Dairy milk egg complete with a mug for my friend so she can sip her tea from it and be reminded of me everytime, even if she doesn't want to!

My friends Mum and babybadger joined us for lunch. It was very tasty, filling and once again the conversation just kept flowing! Actually, my friend and I kept coming out with the same responses at the same time! how spooky is that, I actually reckon we were twins, separated at birth but non-identical of course! (a little 'in' joke there!)

After we'd finished eating, we moved outside to the pub garden since the weather was lovely and sunny. In the UK you have to make the most of the sun whilst it's here! My friends daughter won the hearts of all who sat in the garden, bless her. And every now and then she grabbed my hand to take her to the wall where I'd lift her up and show her the ducks swimming along the river, complete with sound effects of 'quack, quack!!'

The time came to an end all to quickly for my liking as my friend needed to get back home for a riding lesson. We were so chuffed we'd got on and promised this was the first of many meetings.
Her daughter gave me a big hug and waved goodbye to me before getting into her car seat, and my heart just melted.... Said goodbye to my friend and we are now planning the next one!

Thanks for such a great time, I really needed that upliftment, and you have helped me through my recuperation more than you'll ever know :)
